Heartland Book Collection - Collection contains original images used in the museum's Heartland exhibition catalog.  Images that were gathered for possible use in the museum exhibits or in the catalog that ultimately did not get used can be found here: Unused Heartland Images

Harry Laybourne Photo Collection - Browse this enormous collection of thousands of photographs, slides, clippings, and research which cover the history of Springfield and Clark County. Located in the Archives.

Knights of Pythias Children’s Home Collection - Record of orphaned residents from 1895-1940s.  Records give birth date, birth place, parents names and more. Located in the Archives. 

Knights of Pythias Home Collection - Record of elderly adult residents from 1895-1980s.   These records give the names of the resident’s parents, children (with addresses), siblings, nieces, nephews, grandchildren.  The also include occupations, location of birth, level of education and name of the funeral home used.  Often deeds from residences, cemetery lot deeds, wills and life insurance policies are included in the file.  Located in the Archives.

Education Collection - Schools in Clark County A-Z - Search hundreds of pictures of school buildings and classes. Located in the Archives.

Ohio Historical Site Inventories - Click here to look at a list of local historic sites and buildings that have submitted an Ohio Historic Inventory (OHI) form to the Ohio Historic Preservation Office in Columbus.  Copies of the OHI forms are available in the archives.  These forms provide photographs, information about architects, architectural styles, building dates, residents, and more. Located in the Archives.

Ohio History: The Scholarly Journal of the Ohio Historical Society 1887-1997 - This link will take you to the search index on the Ohio Historical Society’s website.  This will enable a search of volumes of articles from 1887 to the present day.  Our collection of journals are from the years 1887-1997 and are available in the Fisher Family Library.

Skardon Papers, Snodgrass Papers - Click to search for your family name in these indexes to genealogical information. Located in the Archives.

Index to Soldiers of the Revolution in Clark County, Ohio, edited by Mary A. Skardon and Anne Snodgrass Benston. 2 Volumes located in the Fisher Family Library.

Fisher Family Collection - Contains genealogical files pertaining to the Fisher Family, as well as genealogical research done by Heritage Hunter, a genealogical research business, and research requests completed by the Friends of the Library.  This collection also contains files about Wittenberg University.  Located in the Archives.

Fisher Family Genealogical Index - A-Z index of genealogical research files and correspondence. Located in the Archives.

Sylvia Olson Genealogical Research Collection - Contains thousands of files of correspondence on various family surnames.  Located in the Archives.

Clark County, Ohio Vital Statistics Index - Index to an 11 volume set of genealogical information submitted by researchers from around the country and compiled by Sylvia Olson.  The index contains surnames of the male heads of the family.  The volumes are available in the Fisher Family Library.

Steel Products Engineering Company (SPECO) Employee Records - These records contain detailed biographical information, husband/wife’s names, children and their ages, parents’ names, immediate family members, spouse’s family members, eduation, physical description, military service, and, if foreign born, date of arrival, ship, port of entry, and naturalization date. Located in the Archives.

International Harvester Employee Records c. 1900-1920 - The names listed in this collection each have employee record cards that list dates of employment, departments, age, and address.

"Springfield Men of Affairs" 1908 Caricature Book - Contains drawings of 100+ men in business and industry in Springfield.

"Souvenir of Springfield" 1903 Promotional Booklet with photos and business listings.
